Johnny Cupcakes x Ghostbusters “Crossbone Buster” T-Shirt

This Ghostbusters themed t-shirt by Johnny Cupcakes has actually been out for a while, but thankfully it’s not sold out yet so The Blot can still talk about it. In honor of JC’s screening of the 1984 classic Ghostbusters at the Coolidge Corner Theater on Monday, October 12th, the clothing company has released the Johnny Cupcakes x Ghostbusters tee entitled “Crossbone Buster.” I love Johnny Cupcakes’ Cupcake and Crossbones logo, so combining it with the Ghostbusters logo seems like a no brainer!


You can also purchase a limited edition promotional poster for the Johnny Cupcakes Presents Ghostbusters screening. The Johnny Cupcakes x Ghostbusters promo poster is limited to just 100 pieces and each poster comes hand numbered.

COMING SOON - Kidrobot 18: Kidmutant by Frank Kozik

Last week Kidrobot posted a video on the KRonikle, the company’s online magazine, which debuted two as of yet unannounced vinyl figures. The second unveiling was of Kidrobot 18: Kidmutant by Frank Kozik.


Not only does this crazy looking Kidrobot mascot vinyl figure have tentacles for arms, but it also comes with a matching mini-mutant Labbit accessory. The Blot’s got a feeling this Kidmutant/mini-mutant Labbit combo is going to have Kozik fans rushing out to purchase this alien looking Kidrobot mascot.

COMING SOON - 8 Inch SKWAK Dunny

Last week Kidrobot posted a video on the KRonikle, the company’s online magazine, which debuted two as of yet unannounced vinyl figures. The first unveiling was of the 8” Dunny seen below designed by French illustrator SKWAK. All that The Blot knows so far is that there will be two color variants of the SKWAK 8 inch Dunny and that the figure will be made of some sort of translucent abs plastic.

Jamungo BUD Series 3 Red Demon Chase Figure by Muttpop

The Blot’s been itching to find out which of Muttpop’s Lucha Libre characters would be getting the Blow Up Doll treatment by Jamungo, and we now know it’ll be Red Demon. I had been wondering for a while if we’d ever see a 2nd Muttpop character re-interprited in BUD form after 2007’s Tequila chase BUD from BUD Series 2. Now that the annoucement is official, I'm on the hunt to add one to my collection!


According to Muttpop Bob, “based on the stat card included with every BUD Series 3 figure, you have a 2.3% chance of pulling one of the [Red Demon Muttpop] figures out of a BUD 3 Blind Box. So, out of a 1000 Series 3 Blind Boxes, there are only 23 Muttpop Chase figures. Nice! I feel special and very rare.”


Jamungo’s BUDs Series III blind boxes will retail for around $10 each and will be in stores shortly.

Lost Screen Print #14 - Ben Linus by Todd Slater

“Ben Linus” by Todd Slater is the fourteenth screen print in the Lost Alternate Reality Game series released in honor of Lost: The Final Season. This poster has huge significance to The Blot because it features one of my favorite characters, Benjamin Linus! No other character has taken the show by storm quite like Michael Emerson’s Ben. From the moment he appeared on screen you knew there was more to The Others’ “Henry Gale,” but even I could not have imagined where Linus’ story would take him and the show. And you can’t have a screen print featuring Ben without his pet #8 white rabbit.


Slater is an amazing artist with a strong fan following, so The Blot has a feeling this print will be highly sought after by Lost fans and Slater fans alike. “Ben Linus” is the 14th screen print released on Damon, Carlton and A Polar Bear in honor of Lost’s sixth and final season. Todd Slater’s limited edition Lost screen print “Ben Linus” measures 18”x24”, has a run size of 300 pieces and comes hand signed and numbered by the artist. The print could have been purchased here for $50, but like all of the other recent Lost screen print releases it sold out in mere minutes.


In celebration of LOST's final season and as a project of fan appreciation, 16 top designers and artists, who are also fans of the show, were commissioned to create artwork celebrating one of the series' most memorable, and unforgettable, "water cooler" moments. This ultimate "fan art" was then turned into labor intensive, hand-pulled screen prints, limited to an edition of just 300, with less than 200 available to the public through our websites. The Hundreds x Dark Horse Comics Usagi Yojimbo Limited Edition T-Shirts by Stan Sakai

Yes, you read that title correctly! Designer clothing label The Hundreds is teaming up with Dark Horse Comics to release a line of Usagi Yojimbo t-shirts to coincide with the 25th anniversary of Stan Sakai’s famous long eared ronin samurai! This collaboration has The Blot very excited, as one of my all time favorite comic book characters finally hits the mainstream with a line of designer t-shirts.



On Saturday, November 21st, The Hundreds will be releasing two limited edition t-shirts at the company’s flagship stores in Los Angeles and San Francisco. The Blot is already trying to convince my friends in LA and San Fran to hook me up with the awesome blue UY tee seen above.


The back of each shirt features the logos of all three parties involved in this killer release, The Hundreds’ Bomb logo, Stan Sakai’s signature, and the Dark Horse Comics logo. Both The Hundreds x Dark Horse Comics Usagi Yojimbo limited edition t-shirts feature new artwork by Stan Sakai made specifically for this release, and each shirt is limited to just 200 of each design.


To mark this very special occasion, on Saturday Usagi Yojimbo creator Stan Sakai will be at The Hundreds’ LA location from 11am to 12pm to sign copies of the latest issue of his monthly comic. Designer Con Exclusive Hand Painted GID 3 Inch Buff Monster Vinyl Figure

Buff Monster will be releasing a set of hand painted 3” Buff Monster glow-in-the-dark vinyl figures with a with high gloss polyurethane topcoat sold exclusively at this weekend’s Designer Con! Only 10 (+1 A/P) of these awesome Designer Con exclusive hand painted 3 inch GID Buff Monster vinyl figures were created and they are sure to sell out extremely quickly.


Each Designer Con exclusive hand painted glow in the dark 3” Buff Monster vinyl figure comes packaged in a box silkscreened by Buff Monster and includes a 3-color signed and numbered silkscreen print. Buff’s custom vinyl figure and print set will retail for $200 each, and can be purchased directly from the artist at his Designer Con booth #19. Gold Coin x Argonaut Resin Stick Up Wave 1 Red Colorway

The first Gold Coin toy has finally arrived! Tomorrow, Friday, November 20th, Argonaut Resins drops Wave 1 of the Stick Up resin figure designed by Cold Coin founder, Ray “Three” Robinson III. Wave 1 includes 10 Stick Up figures, all featuring the figure’s red colorway. Argonaut is only making 10 of this red colorway (there are 30 Stick Up resin figures planned in total), so if you want one of these killer red colorways you’d better act fast.


Each Stick Up figure comes hand numbered and boxed with an official Certificate of Authenticity from Argonaut Resins. The COA will be signed by both the artist (Three of Gold Coin) and the sculptor (END of Argonaut Resins).


The Gold Coin x Argonaut Resin Stick Up Wave 1 (Red Colorway) goes on sale tomorrow at noon EST on the Argonaut Resins online shop. Each figure will retail for $99.

MINDstyle - Buff Bunny by Buff Monster

The Blot wishes he knew more about the 8" Buff Bunny vinyl figure, an upcoming release by MINDstyle and Buff Monster, but no information has been release yet! Oh well…it’s a pretty cool looking platform and a great example of Buff’s signature style. I’m even more interested in finding out what MINDstyle and Buff have in store for this new platform.



The Buff Bunny by Buff Monster is scheduled to be released in the 2nd Quarter of 2010 (i.e. April, May or June of 2010). The figure’s price and run size is currently a mystery.

T.W.O.C. the Elf 2009 Holiday Dunny Chase by TADO

The 2009 Holiday Dunny, Krunk-a-Claus by TADO, is finally here. From what The Blot’s heard, a lot of stores didn’t receive their shipment of Krunk-a-Claus 3" Dunnys last week because of Veteran’s Day. But thankfully TADO’s Holiday Dunny is now in stock at most stores, and we now know what its 1 in 10 chase, the evil T.W.O.C. the Elf, looks like!


No word yet on whether or not there is a rarer 3rd chase, but it sounds like T.W.O.C. the Evil Elf has been pretty easy to find even with its 1:10 ratio. I was surprised to learn that T.W.O.C. (which I can only guess stands for “Taking Without Owner’s Consent”) has elfin ears instead of classic Dunny ears like almost every other production Dunny released to date. The Dunny’s ears personify its signature look, and I was shocked to find out Kidrobot replaced them on its 2009 Holiday Dunny chase.

Lift Exclusive Doktor A Mad’l Official Reveal

There hasn’t been a production Mad’l released in a while, so The Blot has been really excited for the new Lift Exclusive Mad’l designed by Doktor A and entitled Jeeves & Jeeves Co. Autonomous Self Winding Domestic 5” Mad’l. This past weekend Lift officially unveiled the figure at its Dok A exhibition “Freak Mechanique,” and it looks awesome.


The Jeeves & Jeeves Co. Autonomous Self Winding Domestic Mad’l comes dressed in formal attire, and doesn't it look dashing in its black and grey tuxedo? I especially adore the figure’s head, which includes Doktor A’s signature meters he has placed on the back of the Mad’l’s ears. The Lift Exclusive Doktor A Mad’l is limited to just 300 pieces and will go on sale in the next two weeks. The price of this designer vinyl figure is currently unknown, but I would guess it’ll retail between $25-40.

Lost Screen Print #13 - The Barracks by Nate Duval

“The Barracks” by Nate Duval is the thirteenth screen print in the Lost Alternate Reality Game series released in honor of Lost: The Final Season. With only three prints left, the reveal of “The Barracks” was a little anticlimactic. While the reveal of the Others’ barracks was definitely a “water cooler moment,” I think a lot of Lost fans felt it was nowhere near as exciting or dramatic as other key moments from the show’s past five seasons. Regardless, “The Barracks” is a beautiful print and really shows off Duval’s amazing talent.
