This week, Mondo launched a new series of merchandise for the hit Netflix animated series, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off! Based on the original Scott Pilgrim graphic novel series by Bryan Lee O'Malley, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off reunites the entire main cast from the 2010 live action film, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, as the voice cast of this new streaming series. Check out this epic Scott Pilgrim Super Vinyl Figure, which supersizes everyone’s favorite slacker rock star / hero to a whopping 15” tall!

For this release, Mondo turned to 20th century Japanese sofubi for design inspiration, and added a retro fist launching action to help you and Scott in his ongoing battle with the League of Evil Exes. This swivel-articulated 15” soft vinyl figure also features incredible packaging art by the great Tom Whalen. There is also a Deluxe Timed Edition of the figure, available for just 72 hours, which comes with swappable heads and arms, plus his trusty bass guitar.

Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace Screen Print by Matt Ferguson x Bottleneck Gallery

Is it May the Fourth yet!?!?! Bottleneck Gallery is kicking off the May the 4th celebration a little early this week with an epic new screen print of Matt Ferguson’s officially licensed movie poster for Star Wars Episode I’s 25th Anniversary re-rerelease in theaters! As BNG explained, “Matt’s officially licensed work for the 40th anniversaries of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi garnered some of the biggest reactions we’ve seen for Star Wars art ever. The images were everywhere, and we were honored and excited to be able to release Matt’s prints through Bottleneck.”

Bottleneck Gallery went on to say, “Following up on Matt’s previous Star Wars anniversary posters, Disney and Lucasfilm sought out Matt again for Episode I’s milestone 25th anniversary, and the results are stellar! Channeling his lifelong love of Star Wars, Matt’s print for The Phantom Menace is the ultimate ode to the first Prequel Trilogy movie. The Phantom Menace by Matt Ferguson is a 24”x36” hand numbered Star Wars Episode I screen print. Transformers “Optimus Prime” Screen Print by Bruce Yan x Bottleneck Gallery

Today, Bottleneck Gallery is releasing this fantastic Transformers screen print “Optimus Prime” by artist Bruce Yan and featuring the beloved Autobot leader. As BNG explained, “We’re teaming up with Hasbro and Bruce Yan to roll out an awesome new print for the head of the Autobots, Optimus Prime. Bruce’s print features a large, and in charge, Optimus schematic that brings us right back to the days of collecting trading cards. Bruce’s print cleverly includes Optimus’ stats, and as you can see, nobody measures up to Optimus!”

Optimus Prime by Bruce Yan is a 36”x24” hand numbered screen print. The Red Edition and Blue Edition are both limited to 50 pieces and will retail for $45 each, while the Red Foil Edition and Blue Foil Edition are both limited to 125 pieces and will retail for $45.  All four colorways go on sale at 12pm ET on Monday, April 29th, at BottleneckGallery.com.

This is the first release in a new line of limited edition fine art prints from artists around the globe curated by UVD Prints (aka the crew behind UVD Toys). As JC Rivera explained, “This pop art inspired CMYK design shows The Bear Champ manipulating a puppet version of himself. The piece speaks to the internal battle we have and finding the strength to push through and love ourselves.”

Werewolf By Night Pen & Ink Variant Vinyl Figure by James Groman x Mondo x Marvel Comics

To coincide with last weekend’s C2E2 convention in Chicago, Mondo released online the third limited edition colorway of James Groman’s latest Mondo masterpiece, Marvel’s Werewolf By Night soft vinyl figure! Harkening back to the line work of the character’s Marvel Comics origins, the steely Pen and Ink Variant Werewolf By Night stands 10” tall and features paint application by Groman himself. Limited to just 300 pieces, this Marvel vinyl figure was sold exclusively at MondoShop.com for $135 (but promptly sold out).

Red King Mummy Gator & Burning Burgundy Honoo Vinyl Figures by Super7

The Blot loves that we’re getting new sofubi figures from Super7 every month now. If only they didn’t sell out so darn fast!!! For April 2024, Super7 released the Red King Mummy Gator and the Burning Burgundy Honoo by Leecifer.

The Red King Mummy Gator ($65) by Brian Flynn stands 6” tall and is cast in ivory soft Japanese vinyl with yellow and blue sprays and red and silver detailing. The Burning Burgundy Honoo ($45) stands 4” tall and is cast in burgundy vinyl with pink and metallic bronze sprays and lime green and light blue detailing. Both figures were sold exclusively at Super7.com and promptly sold out upon release.
